Day 6--Tessa

Yesterday we went for a family outdoor outing. Andrew took his bike, I took the baby carrier and we brought along both dogs. Tired from my long run on Saturday, I probably should have taken a nap but I couldn't waste such amazing November sunshine!

When we arrived at our destination, Andrew hopped on his bike and took off, both dogs followed but Tessa stop about fifteen feet from the car and looked back at Ben and I getting set up with the baby carrier. She loves mountain biking, but on this glorious afternoon she loved me more.

Tessa, trained by Andrew, is my dog. I didn't always love her and if you need to see why read this post.
I am thankful for her excited "kisses" when she hears my alarm in the morning and is ready to run.

I am thankful for the way she enthusiastically greets my running partner early in the morning. I am thankful for her intelligence which makes her ornery but also very lovable. I am thankful for the companion she is to Andrew, Ben and I. We are blessed to have such a silly, smart, happy dog to share life with.
